Theatre and Dramatic Arts
In drama and speech classes students are taught self-awareness and confidence in performance. They perform in class, for the student body, and also have an opportunity to participate in the yearly MDSA musical held at Mount St. Joseph High School. Drama study helps students learn keen self-discipline in presentations and careful analysis of their peers, of historical and cultural texts, as well as their own expressive choices. Theatre students are able to learn the production process and use their creativity to design sets, lighting and costumes. Students learn to work independently and collaboratively in a creative atmosphere that integrates the mission of Mount de Sales into dramatic performance.
