For Our Community

Be at Peace

Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life;
rather, look to them with full hope that as they arise,
God, whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His arms.

Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; the same understanding Father who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day.

He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.

  • Small Things; Great Love

    Hello Sailors!
    During this time while we are away from campus, it can be hard to feel connected to your class and to the MDSA community. For the next few weeks, I will be sending out something to you each day from Campus Ministry to help lift your spirits and keep you feeling connected to the Lord and to this community. If you have any ideas of things you might like to see please send them my way!

  • The Art of Letter Writing

    Hello Sailors,
    I think one of the most difficult challenges we are asked to face in this time of quarantine is isolation. While computers and phones are a huge gift, many people who do not have copious amounts of technology are left feeling more alone than ever.

    What do I suggest as a remedy to this problem, you may ask? Letters. Since we have so much time on our hands, this can be an amazing opportunity for us to take the time to write a good old-fashioned letter to someone who may be feeling particularly lonely during this pandemic. Reading a hand-written letter speaks intentionality and care to the receiver, even more than a thoughtful text ever could. And who doesn’t love getting stuff in the mail, am I right?!
