Weekend Activities Canceled

Baltimore County Public Schools have canceled all activities for this weekend. Therefore, we will cancel SAT Prep, Phonation, and all Athletic activities. These events will be rescheduled for a later date. Please watch for more information about Sunday’s Convent Open House.

Cafeteria Update

The impact of the broken water pipe on Monday, Feb. 16 caused water to enter the Music Hall and Cafeteria. We have consulted an environmental company to ensure we avoid any future problems with mold. We are presently working with a contractor to complete work in the kitchen and possibly the Music Hall. This work is estimated for completion by the first week of March.

Baltimore County Public Schools have canceled all afterschool and evening activities for today, Wed. Feb. 18. Aftercare will be open until 4 p.m. today to allow for all to get home safely before the winter storm.

Communion Breakfast

Please mark your calendars and join us on Sunday, March 1 at 10 a.m. for Mass in the Chapel of St. Francis de Sales. Nifty Fifty Speaker Dr. Angela Leimkuhler Moran Ph.D.

Mount de Sales will host Nifty Fifty Speaker, Dr. Angela Leimkuhler Moran Ph.D. as part of the 4th USA Science & Engineering Festival on March 11. Dr. Moran grew up in Catonsville and now works as a "Materials Engineering scientist at the U.S. Naval Academy where she conducts research to help assure that metals and other material that make up some the Navy’s most vital equipment (such as aircraft, sea vessels and weaponry) can withstand the stress and demands of their use." Mount 2000

30 students from MDSA joined almost 2,000 teenagers for the Mount 2000 retreat at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD. Campus Minister Megan Mastroianni shared, “The retreat was incredibly joyful and blessed! From the inspirational talks and witnesses, the amazing band (the music had the girls dancing, jumping, or praying!) and to the new friends that they made, the retreat was a great success. It was a weekend the students will never forget.”

Due to the announced day off on March 2, the Drivers Education class will begin on March 3. The class will be extended one more day ending on March 16. Next Parents’ Club Meeting

The next Parents' Club meeting is Thursday, February 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bird Room. Items on the agenda will include a brief administration update and a presentation by Theresa Greene and the Guidance office on course selection for the 2015-2016 academic year. Among the additional topics for discussion will be preparations for the Communion Breakfast on March 1 and the Father-Daughter Cotillion on March 7 and other important upcoming activities. Please join us - refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.

Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunity

The Polish Heritage Association of Maryland will be providing three $2000, and several $1500 scholarship grants to undergraduate students for the academic year 2015-2016. To qualify the applicant must currently be a fourth-year high school student or full-time collage student, a legal resident of Maryland, and have at least two Polish ancestors. Students must attend an accredited college or university in the United States of America.
