Honors Assembly Award Winners

On Friday, May 27, many of the students, faculty and staff were honored for their success in academics, service, and character during the annual Honors Assembly. The Honors Assembly also concludes the series events for the senior class before graduation. Congratulations to all the winners and good luck to the Class of 2016!

SeaPerch National Challenge

Several MDSA SeaPerch teams attended the SeaPerch National Challenge at Louisiana State University on Saturday, May 21. Each team competed in three pool events and submitted a poster describing their SeaPerch and how their team worked together to complete the design. Science Department Chair Clair Sargo adds, “We had a great time and look forward to continuing our SeaPerch adventures next year in STEM!”

164th MDSA Commencement

Congratulations to the young women of the Class of 2016 who graduated at the 164th commencement from Mount de Sales Academy on Saturday, May 28. We are grateful for each of them and are proud of their significant accomplishments. May God continue to bless our graduates as they begin the next phase in their lives.

Victorian Tea Party

After spending the fourth quarter reading and analyzing Charlotte Bronte’s classic novel Jane Eyre and studying the Victorian Era, freshman English classes enjoyed friendship and treats at a Victorian Tea Party in Alumnae Hall. Dressed in party attire, the girls sampled a variety of “small bites” including scones, cookies, pastries, and shortbread.

Softball Slides into Second!

Congrats to the Sailor Softball team on placing second against Archbishop Spalding high school in the IAAM A Conference Softball Championship on Monday, May 16, held at the Bachman Sports Complex in Glen Burnie. The final score was 3-1. Thank you to our coaches, players, and fans for a wonderful season.

IAAM Track and Field Championships – 2016

MDSA placed second at the 2016 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland Track and Field Championships and collected the most-ever points, medals, wins, league All-Star honors and school records in the program’s history.

MDSA & MSJ ACEd it!

The ACE Club from MDSA and Mount Saint Joseph High School presented their ideas for a renovation/replacement of Cross Street Market in Federal Hill. Presentation night was held at Notre Dame Prep in Towson on Thursday, May 5. The mission of ACE is to engage, excite, and enlighten high school students to pursue careers in architecture, construction, and engineering.

Senior Mother-Daughter Tea

End of the year traditions have already begun for our seniors. On Friday after Mass, Therese Lipscombe, Mount de Sales Girl for the class of 2016, crowned Mary in the Chapel of Saint Francis de Sales. The seniors then proceeded to the Music Hall to enjoy a special afternoon tea with their mothers. It was a beautiful event despite the rain and clouds.

Mary Crowning

Despite the rain, we crowned the blessed Mother after Mass this morning in the Chapel of St. Francis de Sales. Mount de Sales girl Therese Lipscombe '16, who was chosen by her classmates because she practices Christian virtues and displays loyalty to the values upheld by Mount de Sales Academy, crowned the statue of Mary in the chapel as well as in the Music Hall before the start of the Senior Mother-Daughter Tea
