Mount de Sales junior, Saoirse DeBoy '17, won first place in her age group (16-17) for solo championships in Irish dancing, and has been crowned a 2016 World Champion! Congratulations Saoirse, this is a huge accomplishment and we are very proud!
Track and Field Races to the Finish

The Support the Troops Club has been very active this year in raising money and honoring our troops. On Veterans' Day, the club held a special Mass and reception to honor and thank our veterans for their service to our country. Mount de Sales Academy's Support the Troops Club is sponsoring their Second Annual "Sailors for Soldiers 5K" to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. The race is to be held March 29 at 8:00 a.m. in the Hilton area of the Patapsco State Park.
Mount de Sales Academy Celebrates New Biology Lab
Today Mount de Sales Academy (MDSA) held the blessing and celebration of its new Biology Lab, a $50,000 project made possible by a $25,000 matching grant from the Theresa F. Truschel Charitable Foundation and generous contributions from the MDSA Parents’ Club, Alumnae Association, Board of Trustees and friends of Mount de Sales Academy.
Pink Out Basketball Game is this Friday!
Please join us for our second annual Pink Out Basketball Game on Friday, January 31 in the Constance and Samuel Pistorio Gym Complex. JV begins at 4pm, Varsity at 5:30pm. Last year, we raised almost two thousand dollars for the St. Agnes Breast Cancer Center. There will be a bake sale during the school day as well as at the game. Paper hearts will be sold for $1 in memory of someone affected by any cancer to create a "Wall of Love." We will also be raffling off a gift card tree. Please come support the Sailors in their game against Notre Dame Prep and raise funds for a great cause. Wear pink!

Turf Field Blessing!
Today Mount de Sales Academy held the blessing and celebration of our new multi-purpose turf field, a $1.7 million project from Phase II of the school’s Capital Campaign: Anchored in Excellence;Charting our Future. Archbishop William E. Lori and Hall of FamerCal Ripken Jr. participated in a program attended by students, faculty, staff, trustees, donors and families of the school.

Early morning freezing rain did not dampen the spirits of our students as they welcomed Baltimore Archbishop William E. Lori and Superintendent of Catholic schools, Dr. Barbara Edmondson to commemorate the start of Catholic Schools Week.
Champions of Courage Essay Winners
Mount de Sales Academy has two winners in the 2013 “Champions of Courage” Essay Competition - Meghan Abdo ‘13 and Maryanna Antoldi ’15. Twenty Baltimore area students will appear on WBFF-TV FOX 45 and WNUV-TV The CW Baltimore saluting their personal heroes during Black History Month this February. The students are among the twenty finalists in the 26th annual “Champions of Courage” Black History Month Essay Competition presented by M&T Bank.
Former Baltimore Raven - O.J. Brigance to speak at Athletic Hall of Fame Night
The Mount de Sales Academy Athletic Department will host the 2012 Athletic Hall of Fame Night on Saturday, November 10 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The distinguished guest for the evening is the inspirational Mr. O.J. Brigance,championship football player in both the Canadian and the National Football Leagues. He joined the Baltimore Ravens in 2000 where he played in 16 games and won a Super Bowl ring. He is now involved with the Baltimore Ravens as Senior Advisor to Player Development. Mr. Brigance was diagnosed in 2007 with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a motor neuron disease and is determined to help win the fight against this disease.
MDSA named in the Top 50 Catholic High School Honor Roll!
The Cardinal Newman Society announced the winners of the Catholic High School Honor Roll this week and Mount de Sales Academy is proud to be named among the top 50. Since 2004, the Honor Roll has recognized excellence in the Catholic Identity, Academics and Civic Education at Catholic high schools across the United States.

Phase II is Underway!
Sister Anne Catherine gathered students during Spirit Day to pray for the success of Phase II. Students jumped for joy as bulldozers began tearing up the current field to make way for our new artificial turf field with hillside stadium seating.

Phase II Special Announcement Event
Five hundred students, Trustees, faculty, staff, parents, coaches, and other friends of Mount de Sales gathered at noon today for the public announcement of the Phase II plans. For the first time, a rendering of the field was unveiled.
Capital Campaign Phase II Fundraising Launched

New Convent Dedication and Open House
The newly constructed Mount de Sales Academy Convent will be dedicated on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Guests are invited to an Open House from 1:00-4:00 p.m. This is the first convent built in this area to accommodate a growing religious order in more than 50 years. The convent will serve as the new Mount de Sales Academy home for the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation of Nashville, Tennessee.
