Alex Chambers to Lead MDSA Field Hockey Program

 Mount de Sales Academy has announced that Alex Chambers has been selected as the Varsity Field Hockey Coach for the 2017 season. Ms. Chambers will also serve as Assistant Athletic Director for the Sailors.

Ms. Chambers who last coached for Stevenson University as an assistant during the 2014 season, comes to the Sailors with a wealth of experience. In 2008, she was named “Baltimore City Field Hockey Coach of the Year” by The Baltimore Sun. As head coach for Mercy High School, Ms. Chambers led the Magicians to the IAAM “C” Conference Championship in 2007 and 2008. She also served as a coach at several different camps throughout the region. A four-year letter winner in field hockey at Towson High School, Ms. Chambers was a member of a state runner-up team in 2003.

“I am thrilled and honored to have been selected to lead the field hockey program at Mount de Sales. I love the passion, talent and excitement the Sailor athletes bring to the field. I have great respect for the tradition of the field hockey program at Mount de Sales, and I look forward to doing my part to move it forward.” Chambers adds, “My coaching staff and I look forward to forming the girls within the rich spiritual environment and mission that MDSA is so well known for.”
