Hour of Code

December 5-11 is Computer Science Education Week! Mount de Sales will once again take part in the upcoming Hour of Code on Wednesday, December 7 from 2:45-4 p.m. in the second floor computer labs - Rooms B211 and B206. Faculty and staff are welcome to attend and try the Hour of Code with the girls as well!

You are invited to come try an hour (or less) of a coding activity, and there are many different tutorials to choose from. You could create an interactive Christmas card, learn Javascript, make a video game, etc. Please check out the various tutorials here.

You can also do the Hour of Code at home anytime during Computer Science Education Week - December 5-11. Once you complete a tutorial, you will receive a certificate. You may either print out your certificate or email an electronic copy to Ms. Sargo at by Monday, December 12. We are keeping track of certificates to see which class has the most participation, which will earn that class four spirit points! Spirit points will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. 1st gets 4 points, 2nd gets 3, etc.

There will also be a gift card raffle for all of those who participate in the Hour of Code. If you turn in a certificate, you will earn one entry. If you attend our Hour of Code event on Wed., Dec ember 7, you will earn two entries into the raffle.

Please RSVP here  if you are thinking of attending the Hour of Code event here at MDS. I hope to see many of you after school next Wednesday!!
