Hour of Code

In recognition of Computer Science Education Week, Ms. Ruedisueli, the library media specialist, and Ms. Sargo’s Computer Science class helped organize the Hour of Code ( at Mount de Sales for the fifth year in a row. The Hour of Code is a world-wide movement to introduce more students to computer science. All week, students had the opportunity to experience what different computer coding languages look like through fun tutorials and games (and even earn extra credit in their math and science classes!). Schools all over the world participate in Hour of Code events to help more students experience the possibilities within computer and information science education.

Students (and adults too!) are encouraged to try one of the hundreds of tutorials and activities posted on and see what it’s all about!
