Service and Pro-Life Scholarships

Applications are now available in the Guidance Office and in the links below for the Reverend Michael J.P. Roach Scholarship (for those with a commitment to service) and the Cookie Harris Pro-Life Advocacy Scholarship (for those active in the pro-life movement).

Available to rising Juniors and Seniors:

Cookie Harris Pro-Life Advocacy Scholarship

The Cookie Harris Pro-Life Advocacy Scholarships are awarded to developing leaders within the pro-life movement. Two scholarships, each for $750, will be awarded, one to a rising junior and one to a rising senior. Applicants will be evaluated based on an application and essay detailing the student’s pro-life activities to date.
The ideal Cookie Harris Pro-Life Advocacy scholar has the following characteristics:

•  Is active in pro-life advocacy
•  Demonstrates effort in the classroom
•  Maintains a minimum of a 2.0 GPA
•  Conducts herself in a manner that reflects the mission and values of Mount de Sales
•  Is not involved in disciplinary incidents deemed serious by the administration

Available to rising Seniors:

Reverend Michael J.P. Roach Scholarship

The Reverend Michael J. P. Roach Scholarship recognizes and rewards a rising senior who has demonstrated a commitment to service. The Reverend Michael J. P. Roach Scholarship was established by the Aureus Foundation to honor the commitment of Father Roach to Mount de Sales Academy and his selfless service to the Church and community. The endowed scholarship will provide for a minimum scholarship of $5,000 to be awarded each year to a rising senior. Selection will be based on an application and essay.
The ideal Reverend Michael J. P. Roach scholar has the following characteristics:

•  Demonstrates commitment to service
•  Exhibits effort in the classroom
•  Maintains a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
•  Conducts herself in a manner that reflects the mission and values of Mount de Sales
•  Is not involved in disciplinary incidents deemed serious by the administration

Applications are due by January 12, 2018, to Mrs. Cohagan in the Development Office.

Scholarship recipients will be announced at the MDSA Honors Assembly in May, and the awards will be applied to the recipients’ tuition next year.
