Indoor Track Team Excels!

The MDSA Indoor Track Team exceled at the Frostbite Invitational held at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Center in Landover, MD on Dec. 28. The Sailor 4x800 meter relay team, comprised of Cecilia Craig ’16, Caroline Arnold '16, Katerina Boutselis '18, Amelia Getka '18, won the event with a time of 9-minutes, 59.90-seconds. This is the season's fastest time for Maryland private schools and third among all our state's high schools.

The team placed second overall, among 13 teams, and was led by senior Kayla Hamilton who won the 300-meter dash, triple jump and long jump. She also placed second in the 55 meter hurdles.

Samantha Facius '19, who is nationally ranked among all U.S. freshmen, placed fourth in the 3200 and 12th in the 3200 meter runs.  Her 3200 time of 11:51.49 is a Mount de Sales school record for indoor track. Senior Liz Doda also had a school record  for the pole vault event.
