Bridget Quenzer ‘96

Bridget was a four-sport athlete at Mount de Sales Academy who found her true calling junior and senior years when she moved from team to individual sports. After the switch, recognition came quickly among the Baltimore area distance running community.

Transitioning during the winter of her junior year, she was introduced to indoor track and then continued with outdoor track as a prelude to her senior year. In her rookie cross country season, she was named Sunpaper’s Baltimore County and Metro Runner of the Year, winning the Association of Independent Schools title and runner-up in the Maryland Catholic championships as she set seven course records.

Sunpaper’s All-County and Metro selections also came her way in indoor and outdoor track as she was selected to compete in the Pangea Games against Russian athletes and the prestigious Penn Relays 3000 meters. Her name appeared in virtually every individual and relay race from 800 meters on up.

Bridget still holds MDSA records in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.

In college she was named to All-Atlantic 10 Conference (George Washington University) and Colonial Athletic Association teams (James Madison University). Bridget remains among the top 10 athletes in a number of events at JMU.
