About

Welcome

Letter from the Principal

Welcome! Since 1852 young women have been traveling up the hill to the doors of this Academy on the Mount. Its history is rich with the great care of the Visitation sisters, who first designed the building and then mentored the students within its walls. In 1985, the Dominican sisters came to staff the school, integrating their charism of truth and love into the Visitation charism which values knowledge taught in the context of culture and spirituality.

First and foremost our mission is about a person, Jesus Christ. Here, each student seeks for the fullness of life and becomes the young woman God is calling her to be. This includes forming her into a lifelong learner through experiences committed to academic excellence. She knows that she is able to contribute to her community here at Mount de Sales Academy and to the world through service and respect for every human person, beginning with herself.

This mission is timeless, and the Mount de Sales Academy community thrives on. We have been on the Catholic High School Honor Roll every year since its inception in 2004, the only school in the nation to be such. Renovation of the historic Music Hall and new facilities such as a synthetic turf Lacrosse/Soccer/Field Hockey/Softball field allow our students to fully develop their talents in the arts and athletics. College preparatory, honors, and Advanced Placement classes meet a variety of academic needs while challenging even the strongest of students.

From this hill, our alumnae go all over the world, using what they have gained to make a positive difference in the world. Come visit our campus and experience for yourself this dynamic community.

In Christ,
Sister Mary Raymond, O.P.
