Visual + Performing Arts

The Fine Arts department includes the visual arts, music (instrumental and vocal), dance, and theater arts. Instruction in each discipline revolves around foundational principles, the history of the discipline, and studio-based or performance-based projects.

All introductory classes are open to any student who expresses a desire to broaden her horizon, regardless of exposure or skill set. Each student is encouraged to share her gifts and talents through outside performances and community-based service projects, such as performances at local schools and nursing homes.

    AUDITIONS for the Mount de Sales Academy winter production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda will be held on Monday and Tuesday, October 21 and 22 after school in the refectory.  Sign up sheets will be posted on the bulletin board outside the refectory one week prior to auditions.  Students should be prepared with a song to sing a cappella (16-22 bars, preferably from a musical/movie).  Please contact Mrs. Romeo at with any questions.
