Scholarships from Mount de Sales Academy

  • St. Francis de Sales Scholarship

    • Recipients: Incoming freshmen
    • Amount: Half-tuition or quarter-tuition/year
    • Renewable: Each year if requirements are met
    • Application Needed: No
    • These scholarships are awarded solely based on High School Placement Test scores. All applicants are automatically eligible.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship

    • Recipients: Incoming freshmen
    • Amount: $2,500/year
    • Renewable: Each year if requirements are met
    • Application Needed: No
    • These scholarships are awarded solely based on High School Placement Test scores. All applicants are automatically eligible.
  • Golden Counsel Scholarship

    • Recipients: Incoming freshmen
    • Amount: $1,000/year
    • Renewable: Each year if requirements are met
    • Application Needed: No
    • These scholarships are awarded to applicants who exhibit high achievement. All applicants are automatically eligible.
  • Service Leadership Scholarship

    • Recipients: Incoming freshmen
    • Amount: $2,500/year
    • Renewable: Each year if requirements are met
    • Application Requirements: Please submit a one-page, one-sided Word or PDF document with the applicant’s full legal name, current school, and a list of all service and leadership activities participated in from grades 6 – 8. 
    • Deadline to Apply: December 18, 2020

    • These scholarships are awarded to applicants who exhibit service/leadership qualities.
  • St. Cecilia Music Scholarship

    • Recipients: Incoming freshmen
    • Amount: $1,000/year
    • Renewable: Each year if requirements are met
    • Application Requirements: Submit an audition video of the applicant playing or singing. You may only submit one video. A recital video or practice video is acceptable. In addition to a video, please submit the following information:
      • Applicant’s Full Legal Name
      • Current School
      • If the applicant has submitted a vocal or instrumental video. If submitted an instrumental piece, which instrument?
      • Number of years the applicant has been playing/singing.
      • Number of years the applicant has taken private lessons.
      • Name of applicant's current music teacher.
    • Deadline to Apply: December 18, 2020

    • NOTE: Dependent upon COVID-19 safety requirements, top students may be called back in December or January for in-person sight readings and performances. More information will be provided as safety protocols are updated. 
  • Fra Angelico Art Scholarship

  • St. Martin de Porres Scholarship

    • Recipients: Incoming freshmen
    • Amount: $1,500/year to qualifying recipients
    • Renewable: Each year if requirements are met
    • Important Requirement: Applicants must be of Hispanic/Latina ethnicity.
    • Application Requirements: Submit a typed essay with your full legal name on a Word or PDF document, written from the following prompt: Describe how your Hispanic/Latina heritage has contributed to your personal identity and view of life
    • Deadline to Apply: December 18, 2020

    • This scholarship was established for Hispanic/Latina students through the generosity of Dr. and Mrs. Ivan H. Garcia.

  • Guardians of Life Scholarship

  • Semper Fi Scholarship

    • Recipients: Incoming freshmen, rising sophomores, rising juniors, and rising seniors.
    • Amount: Allocated by selection committee.
    • Renewable: Possible. Annual application required.
    • Important Requirement: Applicants must be practicing Catholics who meet requirements listed on the scholarship application. Students grades 9 - 12 may apply for a Semper Fi Scholarship. 
    • Application Requirements: Application, parent essay, student essay, parish and pastor documentation, and completion of FACTS application. To view the Semper Fi Scholarship Application, click here

    • The Semper Fi Scholarship is established in memory of the many Marines who have remained “always faithful” to God, country and the Corps, and to acknowledge and support those Catholic families who have been faithful to living their Catholic faith.
  • Colleen and Erin Marlatt Scholarship

    The Colleen and Erin Marlatt Scholarship Fund recognizes significant contributions of teachers and administrators in Catholic Schools by supporting the education of their dependent children in memory of Colleen and Erin Marlatt.

    The Colleen and Erin Marlatt Scholarship Fund is open to high school students who attend a Catholic high school or college students attending University of Maryland College Park.

    The Applicant must be the dependent child of a full-time teacher or administrator with at least three years’ experience, currently serving at a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Visit www.colleenanderin.org
  • Knott Scholarship Funds

    The Knott Scholarship Funds award four-year, full-tuition scholarships to attend a Catholic high school located in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, or Howard counties. These scholarships look to honor Catholic students who excel in academics. To apply for these scholarships the student MUST meet ALL of the criteria.   • Maryland Knights of Columbus

    The Maryland State Council of the Knights of Columbus is the sponsor of high school scholarships for members' children (3) and for Catholic Students in general (3). Awards may be applied to tuition payments only. Visit https://kofc-md.org/high-school-scholarships/ for descriptions, application information and eligibility. The application period is from October 1, 2019 to February 1, 2020. All applicants must be received by the Scholarship Committee no later than Feburary 1, 2020.
  • Parish Resource

    Families are encouraged to check with their parishes regarding the possibility of limited tuition assistance for Catholic students attending Catholic schools.
  • The Theresa F. Truschel Charitable Foundation

    The Theresa F. Truschel Charitable Foundation’s mission to provide scholarships to students attending Catholic schools at all levels within the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Visit https://sites.google.com/site/theresaftruschel/home.

    Some scholarship opportunities arise for current Mount de Sales students. When application information for these scholarships becomes available, current families are notified.
