Academic Scholarships

The following scholarships are awarded based upon an applicant’s score on the HSPT. There is no application required and a recipient will be notified of her scholarship award along with her acceptance letter. Please note: All application materials for applicable scholarships have the same deadline as applications for admission of December 14, 2016.

FATHER DUERR SCHOLARSHIP

Amount: Half-tuition or quarter-tuition/year
Renewable: Each year if academic requirements are met
Extra application needed: No
These scholarships are awarded solely based on High School Placement Test scores. All applicants are automatically considered.

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS SCHOLARSHIP

Amount: $1,000/year
Renewable: Each year if academic requirements are met
Extra application needed: No
These scholarships are awarded solely based on High School Placement Test scores. All applicants are automatically considered.
 

GOLDEN COUNSEL SCHOLARSHIP

Amount: $625/year
Renewable: Each year if academic requirements are met
Extra application needed: No
These scholarships are awarded to students who exhibit high achievement.
 


Special Interest Scholarships

St. Cecilia Music Scholarship

Amount: $1,000/year to recipients for vocal and/or instrumental music
Renewable: Each year if academic requirements are met. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 average.
Application Requirements: Click here to view the St. Cecilia Music Scholarship application. Auditions requests are due by December 14, 2016. Admissions will contact students in January 2017 for a February 2017 audition.

Fra Angelico Art Scholarship

Amount: $1,000/year to recipients for visual art
Renewable: Each year if academic requirements are met. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 average.

Saint Martin de Porres Scholarship

Amount: $1,500/year to qualifying recipients
Renewable: Each year if academic requirements are met
Extra application needed: Essay
Special Requirement: Applicants must be of Hispanic ethnicity.

Scholarships Sponsored by a Foundation or Fund

Guardians of Life Scholarship

Amount: $2,500/year to one qualifying recipient
Renewable: Yes
Extra application needed: Essay, project proposal, and letters of recommendation.
Special Requirement: Applicants must be Catholic. The Guardians of Life Scholarship is awarded to a student whose essay and project proposal promote a better understanding and non-violent initiatives to protect the unborn and help young women in need.

Colleen and Erin Marlatt Scholarship Fund

The scholarship is intended to recognize the significant sacrifices made by teachers and administrators who have accepted God's call to the ministry of Catholic education by providing financial support in the form of partial academic scholarships. To be eligible the student must be a dependent of a fulltime teacher or administrator who has worked for 3 or more years in a Catholic elementary or high school within the Archdiocese of Baltimore AND entering a Catholic high school as a freshman or be a graduating senior from a Catholic high school entering the University of Maryland College Park as a fulltime freshman. Knott Scholarship Funds

We often receive questions about the Knott Scholarships: The Knott Scholarship Fund awards four-year, full-tuition scholarships to Catholic students who have a composite score in the 95th percentile or above on the High School Placement Test. The other required criteria are available at www.knottscholar.org or you may call 410.779.1225.

Semper Fi Scholarship

Amount: Allocated by selection committee
Renewable: Possibly. Annual application required
Extra application needed: Application, parent essay, student essay, parish and pastor documentation, and completion of FACTS application. 
Special Requirement: Applicants must be practicing Catholics who meet requirements listed on the scholarship application. Students grades 9-12 may apply for a Semper Fi Scholarship.

The Semper Fi Scholarship is established in memory of the many Marines who have remained “always faithful” to God, country and the Corps, and to acknowledge and support those Catholic families who have been faithful to living their Catholic faith. This faithfulness is understood in the traditional sense of keeping the Ten Commandments and observing the Precepts of the Church.
