Scholarships at Mount de Sales
Incoming students may be considered for scholarships recognizing academic achievement, leadership, service, music, visual arts, and more. Applications for most Class of 2031 scholarships are due with your MDSA application on December 11, 2026.

St. Francis de Sales Scholarship
- Eligibility Requirements: Incoming freshman applicants. The top academic applicants are awarded an annual scholarship for each of their four years at Mount de Sales. These scholarships are awarded based on High School Placement Test scores (90% or higher composite score) and middle school grades.
- Scholarship Amount: Up to half-tuition per year
- Renewable: Each year if student remains in good academic/conduct standing
- Application Needed: No, a separate scholarship application is not needed. They are awarded by the Admissions Committee at the time of admission to incoming freshmen only. All applicants are automatically reviewed for eligibility.
- Number of Scholarships Awarded: Varies by applicant class but multiple St. Francis de Sales scholarships are awarded annually

St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship
- Eligibility Requirements: Incoming freshman applicants. High-achieving academic applicants are awarded an annual scholarship for each of their four years at Mount de Sales. These scholarships are awarded based on High School Placement Test scores and middle school grades.
- Scholarship Amount: $2,500 per year
- Renewable: Each year if student remains in good academic/conduct standing
- Application Needed: No, a separate scholarship application is not needed. They are awarded by the Admissions Committee at the time of admission to incoming freshmen only. All applicants are automatically reviewed for eligibility.
- Number of Scholarships Awarded: Varies by applicant class but multiple St. Thomas Aquinas scholarships are awarded annually

Anchor Scholarship
- Eligible Recipients: Incoming freshman applicants who have demonstrated strong leadership and a dedication to service in the classroom, community and/or on the field.
- Scholarship Amount: $1,000-$3,000 per year
- Renewable: Each year if student is an active participant in the Service Club and remains in good academic/conduct standing
- Application Needed: Yes

- Number of Scholarships Awarded: Varies by applicant class but multiple Anchor Scholarships are awarded annually

St. Cecilia Music Scholarship
- Eligible Recipients: Incoming freshman applicants
- Scholarship Amount: $1,000 per year
- Renewable: Each year if a music class is on the student's schedule and the student remains in good academic/conduct standing.

- Deadline to Request Audition: December 11, 2026
- Auditions: Applicants will be contacted in early January 2027 to schedule an audition. Auditions are NOT indicative of an admissions decision. St. Cecilia Music scholarships are awarded to students for both vocal and instrumental music.
- Number of Scholarships Awarded: Three (3) vocal and three (3) instrumental scholarships are awarded annually.

Fra Angelico Art Scholarship
- Eligible Recipients: Incoming freshman applicants
- Scholarship Amount: $1,000 per year
- Renewable: Each year if an art class is on a student's schedule and the student remains in good academic/conduct standing.
- Application Requirements: Click here for application requirements. Portfolios must follow all guidelines in order to be considered.

St. Martin de Porres Scholarship
This scholarship was established for Hispanic/Latina students through the generosity of Dr. and Mrs. Ivan H. Garcia.- Eligibility Requirements: Incoming freshman applicants of Hispanic/Latina ethnicity
- Amount: $1,500
- Number of Scholarships Awarded: One (1) scholarship is awarded annually
- Renewable: Each year if student remains in good academic/conduct standing.

Guardians of Life Scholarship
This scholarship was established through the generosity of the Guardians of Life Foundation.- Eligibility Requirements: Incoming freshman applicants who are Catholic
- Amount: $2,500 per year to a qualifying recipient
- Renewable: Each year if student remains in good academic/conduct standing and meets annual Guardians of Life Club officer requirements.

- Number of Scholarships Awarded: One (1) scholarship is awarded annually.
- The Guardians of Life Scholarship is awarded to a student whose essay and project proposal promote a better understanding and non-violent initiatives to protect the unborn and help young women in need.

Semper Fi Scholarship
- Eligible Recipients: Incoming freshmen, rising sophomores, rising juniors, and rising seniors.
- Important Requirement: Applicants must be practicing Catholics who meet requirements listed on the scholarship application. *You do not need to have a tie to the military to apply.
- Amount: Allocated by selection committee.
- Renewable: Possible. Annual application required.

- The Semper Fi Scholarship is established in memory of the many Marines who have remained “always faithful” to God, country and the Corps, and to acknowledge and support those Catholic families who have been faithful to living their Catholic faith. BOOST Scholarship Program
To assist interested families in the BOOST Scholarship Program, we've compiled some helpful resources:- FAQs for Parents
- Virtual Customer Service Sessions in both English and Spanish, under Parent/Guardian Customer Service Support sessions. Each session will be recorded.
- Online application for parents for the 2026-2027 school year. The application is now open and will close on Friday, May 8, 2026. It will not be extended.
- Weekly virtual assistance on Wednesdays (starting March 18th) from 12-1 until Wednesday, May 6th (with a certified interpreter).

G.B. Charities (GBC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the Baltimore Community through the education of its youth. Knott Scholarship Funds
The Knott Scholarship Funds have been providing merit based, full-tuition scholarships for academically talented Catholic elementary and secondary school students for 41 years. Awarded in the 4th grade for grades 5 through 8, or 8th grade for grades 9 through 12, scholarships are awarded to Catholic students in the Archdiocese of Baltimore who wish to attend a Catholic school.
Applications are available beginning in January and are due in March for awards for the following year. For more information, please visit www.knottscholar.org.

Maryland Knights of Columbus
The Maryland State Council of the Knights of Columbus is the sponsor of several High School scholarships for its members and for Catholic Students in general.
Awards may be applied to tuition payments only. Visit https://kofc-md.org/high-school-scholarships/ for descriptions, application information and eligibility. The application period is from October to February annually. All applications must be received by the Scholarship Committee no later than February 1 annually. -

Families are encouraged to check with their parishes regarding the possibility of limited tuition assistance for Catholic students attending Catholic schools.

Reverend Michael J. P. Roach Scholarship
The Reverend Michael J. P. Roach Scholarship recognizes and rewards a rising senior who has demonstrated a commitment to service. The Reverend Michael J. P. Roach Scholarship was established by the Aureus Foundation to honor the commitment of Father Roach to Mount de Sales Academy and his selfless service to the Church and community.
MDSA juniors are contacted about this $5,000 scholarship opportunity in the fall with application details. Applications are due at the beginning of December and the recipient's award is applied to their senior year tuition. -
Cookie Harris Pro-Life Advocacy Scholarship
The Cookie Harris Pro-Life Advocacy Scholarships are awarded to developing leaders within the pro-life movement. Two scholarships, each for $750, will be awarded: one to a rising junior and one to a rising senior.
MDSA sophomores and juniors are contacted about this scholarship opportunity annually in the fall with application details. Applications are due at the beginning of December and the recipients' awards are applied to the next year's school year tuition. -
The Croteau Family Scholarship
The Croteau Family Scholarship, sponsored by Marcia and Joe Croteau P’03, offers college scholarships to MDSA seniors who plan to pursue a college degree in the STEM or Health fields. Scholarships are awarded based on GPA, activities completed during high school, and application short essay responses. There should be a demonstrated level of courses and activities that extend beyond the core requirements to include elective, honors and AP class work, clubs, and activities.
MDSA seniors are contacted in the spring with application details and applications are due in May. Awarded scholarships are to be applied to the recipient's freshman year college tuition costs. -
Knott Scholarship Funds
The Knott Scholarship Funds provide financial support for full and partial scholarships for Notre Dame of Maryland University, Loyola University Maryland, and Mount Saint Mary’s University. Click here for more information on eligibility and how to apply.
