Transfer Students

Students are considered for transfer into Mount de Sales for grades 10 or 11 based on class availability. Potential transfer students should carefully consider their reasons for transferring and read our transfer process below.
  • Candidates and their parents must understand and be fully committed to supporting the mission and vision of Mount de Sales Academy.
  • Candidates must be in good academic, disciplinary, and financial standing at their previous institution.

  • Transfer Application Process

    1. Submit an inquiry form. Once processed, you will have access to the Sailor Portal and your admissions checklist.

    2. Review admissions checklist on your Sailor Portal and submit all required documents (application, transcripts, recommendations).

    The timeline for transfer admissions decisions are dependent on when all application materials are received by MDSA and the candidate interview is complete. 
  • Transcripts

    Mount de Sales must receive the most up-to-date student records from the current school year, as well as all records from the two previous years. This could include middle school records from eighth grade. Please reach out to your current school and ask for all required records to be sent to admissions@mountdesales.org. Click here for the Request for Records form.

    Required items include: g
    rades, attendance records, behavioral records, standardized test scores, and results of any academic, psychological, and emotional/behavioral testing.

    Home School / Tutorial Applicants:
    Students enrolled in a home school program that issues transcripts should sign and submit the Mount de Sales Request for Records form to the program after January 1. The program should send records directly to Mount de Sales. For students home schooling through local school district approval, the home educator must provide a list of courses, textbooks, and progress for all high school work, including the current year up to January 1. For students who do not earn numerical or letter grades, the home educator should provide a summary of the student’s progress for each class in each year.
  • Recommendations

    All recommendations are confidential and should be sent from the recommender directly to Mount de Sales.

    Two recommendations from your daughter's principal and/or current teachers should be submitted directly to the MDSA admissions office. The link to the form to send to the recommenders can be found on your Sailor Portal admissions checklist. If the recommenders prefers to fill out a paper-version of the recommendation, it can be downloaded here: Standard Recommendation Form.

    If the applicant is home-schooled: Two recommendation forms are required. Tutors, co-op teachers, and adults who have worked with the applicant in an instructional capacity may submit the recommendation form directly to the MDSA admissions office. The link to the form to send to the recommenders can be found on your Sailor Portal admissions checklist.   • Interview

    Every applicant and at least one parent/guardian are required to attend a 30-minute interview. Interviews are scheduled by the MDSA admissions office.

All acceptances are conditional upon the successful completion of current academic year. All decisions regarding the acceptance of a student into Mount de Sales Academy are done with the highest emphasis placed on what is in the best interest of the individual girl.
