Summer Events

Summer is awesome at Mount de Sales! We have several small, casual events planned, offering great opportunities to have fun and connect with your classmates before school starts in the fall.

  • Catonsville Fourth of July Parade

    Sailors, join the fun this 4th of July!
    Hop on the MDSA bus and ride in the Catonsville Parade to earn service hours. Spirit wear will be provided by the Sailor Shop.

  • Class of 2029 Service Event

    Date: Tuesday, June 17
    Time:  9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 
    Location: Little Portion Farm, 12280 Folly Quarter Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21042
    Cost: Free
    Grades: MDSA Class of 2029
    Supervisor: Ms. Nahmias, MDSA Service Coordinator
     
    Join your Sailor Sisters for a service event on Tuesday, June 17, from 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.. This service event is for the Class of 2029 only, and these service hours will count towards your freshmen year requirement.

    We will be volunteering at Little Portion Farm at the Shrine of Saint Anthony.  Look for the big red barn on your right when you pull into the driveway towards the Shrine. Please arrange to be dropped off and picked up from the farm. Ms. Nahmias, the MDSA Service Coordinator, will be there to greet you and help oversee farm tasks. Make sure you and your parent/guardian sign a farm waiver when you arrive. Please email Ms. Nahmias (jnahmias@mountdesales.org) with any questions. Spots are limited to 20 students. 
     
    What is Little Portion Farm? Little Portion Farm is a ministry of the Franciscan Friars focused on providing fresh food to those in need while using sustainable farming methods. All the food harvested from the farm is donated to the Franciscan Center in Baltimore. MDSA students volunteer regularly at Little Portion Farm. 
     
    What to Bring: Work clothes, close-toes sneakers, sunblock, hat, snack, and lots of water. Sign a waiver upon arrival. 
    Drop off: 8:45 a.m.
    Pickup: 11:00 a.m.

  • Class of 2029 Wellness Wednesday

    Wellness Wednesday
    Wednesday, June 18 | 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
     
    We will meet in the gym on the MDSA campus and enjoy a morning of self-care, taking care of our minds, bodies, and souls! We'll be doing wellness activities like taking a walk around campus, a mindful low-impact Pilates stretching routine, and face masks. Snacks will be provided.

  • Class of 2029 Sunset + Snowballs

    Sunset + Snowballs
    Wednesday, June 25 | 5:30 - 7 p.m.
     
    We will walk the Trolley Trail to Opie's Soft Serve & Snowball Stand. Students will enjoy games, ice cream, and fellowship.

  • Steubenville Youth Conference

    All Mount de Sales rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are invited on a summer trip to the Steubenville Youth Conference at Franciscan University!
     
    During this trip, students will experience incredible music, dynamic speakers, and engaging moments of prayer with thousands of other high school students from across the country. This trip will run from June 28-30, 2025. The cost of the trip is $350, which covers the conference, meals, lodging, bus, and a t-shirt.

  • Hershey Park

    Date: August 13, 2025
    Time: 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
    Location: Hershey Park (100 Hersheypark Dr, Hershey, PA 17033)
    Cost: $85
    Grades: 9-12
    Director: Madison Bolesta, Campus Minister 

    Join us for a day of roller coasters and all things Hershey! This event is open to all Mount de Sales students. We will meet at MDSA at 8:00am to go to Hershey Park. Transportation to the park will be provided by a school bus. We will return to MDSA at 10pm.

    What to Bring:
    Students should bring a fully charged cell phone, a card to purchase lunch at the park (Hershey Park is cashless), and a small bag for personal items. Attendees are allowed to bring one sealed water bottle into the park with them. Please be mindful of wearing appropriate clothing in the heat. It is recommended that students bring snacks to enjoy on the bus.
