Events + Committees

  • Prom Palooza – Provides a safe & fun environment for juniors and seniors and their guests to attend after the Prom. This event is open to all juniors and seniors whether or not they attend the Prom. This event is funded by the Parents’ Club and donations. There is no cost to students.
  • Bag Bingo –  Assist in planning and running a bag bingo. Proceeds will be used for our Prom Palooza!
  • Baccalaureate Reception – A reception with light refreshments is held immediately following the Senior Class Baccalaureate Mass. Scheduled the Thursday evening prior to Graduation.
  • Christmas Bazaar/Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction – The annual Christmas Bazaar and Spaghetti Dinner is held the first Sunday in December; however, due to Thanksgiving break, this year it will be held on the second Sunday, December 8. This major fundraiser is not to be missed! There are separate planning committees and there is something for everyone:
    • Crafts - The craft committee meets throughout the year making crafts for the Christmas Bazaar. You need not be “crafty” just willing to help.
    • Spaghetti Dinner - The feature of the day – a delicious spaghetti dinner is lovingly prepared by our dinner committee volunteers and is served to you by MDSA students.
    • Silent Auction - The silent auction committee coordinates themed baskets from the homerooms and solicits donations from families and local businesses.
    • Granny's Goodies – A wonderful bake sale! Volunteer to bring in baked goods and/or help sell them.
    • Secret Santa Shop – Just for the little ones. Kids can make or shop for inexpensive gift items. Be on the lookout for a visit from the jolly old fellow himself.
  • Communion Breakfast – Each spring the Parents’ Club sponsors a Communion Breakfast. Your family is invited to attend Sunday Mass in the MDSA Chapel and enjoy breakfast with fellow Mount de Sales families in the Music Hall and Cafeteria. There is no charge to attend. This event is a great way to welcome our incoming Sailors! 
  • Fall/Spring Cleanup – Twice a year the Parents’ Club performs a cleanup of the Mount de Sales grounds. We do whatever is needed to spruce up the grounds before the Open House in the fall and Graduation in the spring. We mulch, trim trees and shrubbery, pick up trash, pull weeds, etc.
  • Father/Daughter Cotillion – A dance for all students and a “fatherly” escort. The escort can be the girl’s father, grandfather, uncle, brother, godfather, etc. Dinner is provided for the seniors and their escorts in the Music Hall; light refreshments are provided for all students during the dance in the gym. Don’t let your daughter tell you different - this is an event for students of ALL grades.
  • Golf Tournament – A major fundraiser, the annual golf tournament includes lunch and dinner, a fun day of fresh-air, golf, door prizes and a cash raffle open to all.
  • Local Restaurant Social Nights – A chance to gather at a local restaurant with other Mount de Sales Academy girls and families. The restaurant donates a percent of their proceeds to the Mount de Sales Academy Parents’ Club. Proceeds help defray the cost of our Parents' Club events. Watch for Sailor Mail for specific dates and places.
  • Parking Posse – The Parents’ Club provides parking assistance at major school events during the school year, i.e., the Open House in November, Christmas Bazaar in December, Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation in May. Volunteers operate in shifts and can volunteer at one or all of the events.
  • Senior Mother-Daughter Tea – The Parents’ Club sponsors a luncheon tea for senior girls and their mothers.
  • 1852 Crew – Past and current parents dedicated to the preservation of Mount de Sales Academy. This group of parents plan and complete projects on the grounds of Mount de Sales and its historic buildings. Everyone is welcome, no specific skill set is required, and any amount of time is appreciated.
