Gail Decker Wittman ‘00

Gail gained widespread recognition as a high school lacrosse player and has not slowed down after her Mount de Sales Academy career.

Twice named a high school All-American player, as well as an Academic All-American, Gail was also a two-time Sunpaper All-Baltimore City/County lacrosse player in her junior and senior years. Plus, she was placed on the Sunpaper’s All-Metro team as a senior.

She was not forgotten for MDSA on-campus awards either as she was selected Sailor Athlete of the Year in 2000 and the lacrosse team’s Most Valuable Player her junior and senior seasons, and Unsung Hero as a sophomore.

An Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland All-Star pick she was her Conference’s second leading scorer.

After high school, Gail was named an NCAA Division I All-American in 2003 and 2004. She was recognized by the Colonial Athletic Conference during all four years of her play at James Madison University. She was nominated in 2003 and 2004 for the Tewaaraton Trophy as the top collegiate lacrosse player as well as a finalist for the Honda Award.

Gail, her husband, and their daughter reside in Boston, where she has coached the Emerson College team to the 2009 and 2010 Greater Northeast Athletic Conference championships. She was also named GNAC Coach of the Year in 2010. Harrow, a lacrosse equipment manufacturer, has placed her name on one of their signature sticks.
