Spring Concert

On Saturday, April 30th, MDSA music students took the stage for the first Spring Concert in the new Center for Performing Arts and Student Life.  This year, the girls studied music by American composers. From patriotic march and movie music to art song and gospel, they seized the opportunity to celebrate sounds and rhythms distinctly American.

Some highlights include “The Star Wars Epic” (Orchestra), “Two South American Tangos” (Chamber Ensemble), “Children Will Listen” from Into the Woods (Chorus), “It’s Only a Paper Moon” (Concert Choir), and “Secret for the Mad” (Combined Choirs). To conclude, the combined choirs sang “The Storm is Passing Over”, giving thanks to God for weathering us through the storm to see the morning light appear.

Overall, it was a beautiful evening filled with eclectic and meaningful selections. The girls were so thankful to have this time together for music making, fellowship, and celebration. Here’s to many more in our new home!
