Astronaut Audrey Power's Visit was Out of This World!

Today we welcomed Astronaut and Mount de Sales alumna Audrey Powers ’94, Blue Origin's Vice President of Mission and Flight Operations.   She carved an impressive career path after graduating from Mount de Sales Academy. Her passion for learning led her to Purdue University where she received a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering that launched into a career that’s truly out of this world!

Audrey visited an AP Biology class and then presented to the students, faculty, and staff in the Center for Performing Arts and Student Life. She shared memories of her time at MDSA, discussed her extraordinary career path, and told the remarkable story of her historic flight to space on Blue Origin’s New Shepard. Audrey hopes to encourage young people to consider a career in space, which will ultimately benefit our beautiful earth.

The MDSA lacrosse team presented Audrey, who was a MDSA lacrosse player and team captain, with a jersey sporting the #1 on it, as she’s the first Sailor in space and certain to inspire future Sailors as well!

Thank you, Audrey, for inspiring the next generation!
