Twice as Nice: Sailors Capture Back-to-Back Championships

Back-to-back champions! On May 9, the Mount de Sales Academy varsity lacrosse team captured its second consecutive IAAM B Championship with a thrilling 12–11 overtime victory over Garrison Forest School. After facing a five-goal deficit in the third quarter, the Sailors demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination to complete the comeback.

Senior Ella Powers led the offense with four goals and three assists, while Paige Smith added three goals and Grace Herman contributed two. Maddie Sabatelli, Sophia Cunningham, and Julia Conley each scored once, including Conley’s game-winning overtime goal. Strong defensive stops and positive leadership throughout the game propelled the team to victory.
