In Memoriam - Nora Reiter Coakley '70 P'08

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Nora Reiter ‘70, P’08, a beloved member of our Mount de Sales Academy community, MDSA Board of Trustees Member (2003-2015) and first female Board President. Nora's profound dedication and love for MDSA have left an indelible mark on all of us.

Nora Reiter was a strong leader and pillar of MDSA, serving as President of the Board of Trustees for many years. Her leadership, wisdom, and commitment to the growth and success of Mount de Sales Academy were truly exceptional.

Nora's connection to our school ran deep, as she herself was an alumna of MDSA. She also devoted herself to religious life in her earlier years as one of the last Visitation nuns from Mount de Sales. Although she ultimately discerned that religious life was not her calling, she carried the values of her faith with her throughout her life, serving as a shining example of faith, compassion, and selflessness.

Nora valiantly battled cancer for an extended period, facing adversity with unwavering courage and grace. Her heroic witness to life's challenges serves as an inspiration to us all. Despite her struggles, she continued to take a genuine interest in others, wore a warm and welcoming smile, and faithfully attended daily Mass.

She was an example of the strength of the Mount de Sales Academy community and the enduring impact that one person can have.

Nora's family would appreciate your prayers during this difficult time.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
